Am I still awake?

Fuck.

Fuck.

Tomorrow morning I will be learning how to change the oil on the big, old diesel-powered backhoe we have up here. Did I forget to mention I got my first lesson in driving it the other day, pushing snow around a local church’s parking lot? Well, really we were just using the front end loader side of the thing. I’ll have to learn how to use the actual backhoe another day.

yet in another window I’m still updating all my Cafepress stores to reflect the presence of the new store. Despite what my last post may have lead you to believe, I am not actually done. yes, the products are in place, but … well, if you go take a look at the stores you’ll see the list of the stores’ names in the upper right hand corner of the part of the page I have any control over. And in order to create a uniform experience across all stores where you can add products from any store and still get to just about all the other stores, I have to go through every store and update the HTML. Not that bad, but what I’m doing now in another window.

Until it’s done, I say.

It’s supposed to be snowing another 2 to 4 inches of snow tonight, then maybe more tomorrow, but then the temperature is supposed to be up into the 60s by the weekend. Apparently there is some sort of additional shuffling or moving (via shovel or via backhoe or perhaps by hand, I do not know) that I’m supposed to be able to do soon to get the remaining snow to melt faster. I’m thinking of contructing a wood-gasifier and portable flame thrower from the spare parts and scrap and assorted other bits that have accumulated around here and just running around shooting fire at the snow. Clean-burning fire from a renewable source, of course.

Aha! i think i may be done in that other window. Now to go double-check the actual front-ends, and I can go to bed. Hooray for bed! I noticed a bit ago that my wood stove was cooling down and I thought it might need some more wood. It had cooled down earlier because ashes had managed to fall down completely blocking the only place air can get in to fuel the fire, and that was a mess to get going again, but as soon as it had air it started to heat up again. I checked the air-opening, and it seemed fine, so I grabbed a piece of wood to put in the stove. Now, something you don’t know about my wood stove is that the main opening for putting in fuel is in the top. Which means that when I reached out with my handkerchief-protected hand to open it and quickly drop the wood in I was expecting a face full of smoke. What I got was a face full of FLAME. I guess it was burning fine. i closed it fast enough not to get burned, and too fast to put the new wood in. I’ll try one last time before I land in bed, but if it’s shooting out fire again, I’ll just let it be.

Oh yeah. Featured products from the new store (ie: the ones that I think look especially nice with the SaveME logo & make good use of its black background):

The SaveME Wall Clock
The SaveME Black Cap
The SaveME Black Ski Cap
All three SaveME Stickers (1) (2) (3) – (3 is the bumper sticker)
The SaveME Lunch Box
The SaveME Coaster
The SaveME Flying Disc

Of course, all the products are wonderful. Take a look. I’m going to bed.

SaveME Buttons and merchandise!

Okay, this is all taking longer than I expected to put together. I tried working on it in the middle of the day today while I was straightening up my room and the uploads would just not upload. Erg. And then putting every new product in place & setting it up right … Anyway, there’s a whole set of new products available, and they all sport the fashionable “SaveME” logo. I’ve contacted Cafepress and I’m going to get in touch with my other screen printing contacts about prices, but if there’s demand I may do a run of Black T’s with the SaveME logo. Also, if I find it’s a reasonable thing to do and I get plenty of emails I may look into doing a run of black Flaming Squirrel T-Shirts. Tell me if you want one, even if you’re not sure you can afford one. I just need to get an idea, here.

Oh, the link to the store? http://www.cafepress.com/ME_SaveME/ Isn’t it wonderful?

Also, the button that should have appeared in the first paragraph is available to be put on your very own website! You can use one that links to the new store or one that links directly to Modern Evil’s Paypal donation page using the code below. Just copy and paste it into your own websites to help SaveME.

Still Out of(In) Town

So, as I said, I’m in Phoenix today. I’m waiting for my grandfather to return from the doctor so we can see whether they have decided that he needs to stay in town longer to receive additional treatments. Except I’m actually out of town. Out of town, that is, frm my home and my computers. So if you’ve emailed me since Saturday night, I haven’t seen it yet, and won’t see it until I get back to Pine. Which means I certainly won’t respond to it until after i get back to Pine either. Your best bet is to call me. My phone number is still RETARDED.

Anyway, even though I couldn’t find anyone to go with me, I went ahead and saw Cradle 2 The Grave at a local theatre last night, and will likely be doing a review of it soon. It was much better than I expected. So much better that I think I may watch Exit Wounds (a similar film by the same director that I didn’t watch) at some point, and enjoy it. Cradle 2 The Grave had a lot of things that made it good, but really any movie where you get to see Jet Li fight is going to be fun to watch. I’ll stop now, and do a review later.

Oh, and I just copied all the photos I took of the snow from floppies to a CD, and should be able to put together something interesting before too long to post on the site. And I still don’t have a working webcam, but I did take some webcam-like shots with the digital camera, so will soon ahve a virtual webcam shot on FYTH somewhere.

Did everyone see I dropped the prices on my 16″x20″ artwork to $60? How about that? (Shoot. That reminds me I didn’t get those new paintings photographed this week. I’ll do it this week and see about getting them done up for next week.) Yes, you can now commission paintings by me starting at $60 for 16″x20″ work & going up from there depending on size and content. Remember; this is for a limited time & goes to Save Modern Evil from deletion. Plus, you know you want an original painting by Teel McClanahan III. It’ll be worth much more when I become a famous artist later. Plus, it looks greatin your den.

That’s all for now. If I’m staying in town/out of town longer than today, I’ll post again.

Fixed problem with posts

Sorry, everyone. There was a problem with my backend that was preventing posts made in March not to appear on the front page of Modern Evil, but I have just finished fixing it (for everything but Mo’s blog). Something to do with the way PHP handles the ASCII value \0x30 as both ‘0’ and ‘3’ turning the month ’03’ into ”, menaing that entries posted in March were actually posted in the month null. It’s all fixed now, though.

If I hadn’t been doing this all night, I probably would have been to bed a while ago, but would also have probably posted about some nice Beetlenut pie I had Friday, and maybe about the fact that I’m going to be coming down to the valley tomorrow night and will remain in town through at least most of Monday. (Depending on what the doctors decide to do with my grandfather.) I don’t know what’s out right now, but I’m going to try to go see a movie with my sister Sunday night. Give me a call if you’d like to try to get a slice of my time in town. Leave me a voicemail if I don’t answer; there’s a problem right now with my phone not accepting calls that AT&T can’t seem to figure out but I suspect I know the reason for. Anyway, VM notifications come right through and I can make as many outgoing calls as I want right now. (Hooray unlimited weekend minutes!)

Now I really am going to bed. Stupid PHP.
