That’ll be the day

Hopefully within my lifetime, news sites around the world will be reporting only good new, because that’s all there is to report. Stories like “Israel and Pakistan learn to share” and “Kitten looks surprised” and valuable up-to-the-minute information like “joy index up 500 points!” are just what I’m looking for. If I could read stories like this all the time, I might go to news sites more often.

Then again, I might spend more time outside, Sharing the joy.

I wish I could afford a PC to do 3D modelling on…

So, this is an interesting infographic showing the extent of the damage to surrounding buildings from various views. It gives the pertinent information immediately, and offers alternate views and levels of zoom to give you more detail if you want it. I’m not particularly interested in the subject matter, but what I am interested in is getting my hands on the software and model they used of downtown New York City. It seems to have a lot of useful information about the layout of the city, and the shapes and sizes of the buildings of the entire island.

Thinking of that, I guess if I were a terrorist, I could use a 3D map like that to plan an attack…

The world is so full of such a number of things

As I surf the web, I like to click on banner ads. There are so many interesting banner ads out there, I just can’t resist some of them. Just now, I clicked on a banner ad that offered to tell me what my name means (As usual, “Teel” translates roughly to “We’re sorry! The name you are looking for is not on our list.”), and then I clicked on the banner ad on that page. This second banner said “Kellogs Rice Krispies ricekrispies.com Don’t Be Square” and to the right of that had an image of what is clearly a half-eaten piece of pizza. Actually, it looked just like this:

and it led me to an interesting recipe that did in fact involve rice krispies treats made to look like a pizza. There are quite a few other interesting things they suggest you do with rice krispies treats that you might also be interested in. I know I’m thinking more and more of just going with “fat and happy” these days…

I want to be a Special

I had dismissed it in the past, but taking a closer look at City of Heroes now, I can see how it might be a lot of fun for me to play. Not in the traditional sense, of course, because just being the best superhero and fighting the most powerful supervillians seems like it would get pretty boring after a while. Instead, I would like to get some friends in on it and build a team of superheros modeled after The Specials.

If you have never seen The Specials, you should try to. It is a very entertaining movie. If you have trouble finding a copy of it, harrass Iain about it, and maybe he’ll lend you his copy. The Specials are the sixth or seventh best team of superheroes on the planet. That is what I would like to build.

Trouble is, they don’t seem to have the “bird powers” I’m looking for.
