I win the “LG makes exploding batteries” lottery!
“The affected batteries could overheat, posing a fire hazard to consumers. Apple has received six consumer reports of these batteries overheating. If you have a recalled battery, please stop using it and order a replacement battery immediately. Once you have removed the battery, plug in the AC adapter to power the computer. If you must temporarily use your computer with the battery, do not leave it unattended and check for signs of overheating.“
My new battery has already been requested; “The request for your battery will be processed shortly. Apple will ship you a battery as soon as possible after receiving your replacement order. Shipping time may vary due to battery availability.” I’m uhhh… I’m gonna tempt fate and just keep using my computer normally.
Yeah, yeah, they didn’t say exploding, but … a year or two back Apple had to recall some PowerBook batteries that WERE exploding from overheating. I wonder how much a recall like this costs Apple, considering each battery is priced over $100. Maybe LG foots the bill, and recycles the batteries (or battery components) that aren’t actually a danger.
