For those of you who don’t look over there

In case you don’t read Modern Evil regularly, I wanted to point out a lot of activity that has been taking place not just on the main page of the site, but also in the forums. Most of the posts are from me, but we had a surprize reaction from IQPierce which resulted in some more interesting comments from me. Me, me, me. I have so much to say. I wish someone else did, too.

If you do, please, go post.

Nyah-nyah

So, in terms of raw creative power, this weekend was … fair. I wrote two poems this weekend. The first two in years. One of them I typed up and mailed off to Spain. After it gets there, I’ll probably put it on ME for everyone to read, but at least for a little while it’s something special for her. The other I would have posted today, but I just plum forgot that notebook at home this morning. Hopefully, I’ll be able to keep writing poetry, now that I’ve started again. Now that I seem to have surpassed my old bias against free verse and blank verse.

Still seem to make patterns with my words, but they’re not just rhymed couplets anymore.

The other creative thing I did this weekend was to work on learning to draw in an anime style for one of the comics I’m going to be doing. I’m comfortable with the slow rate things are going, and am now planning on a 1.1.4 release date. 26 days and counting. I seemed to be able to draw in a convincingly well-done manner last night, even while wearing latex gloves. Now, if I can just convince myself to spend the next 45 minutes adapting females from popular college comics, I can finally get started on actually completing some more strips.

Dental care from space

So, I saw those TV commercials for the new Crest brushes that have stationary and oscillating bristles, and whereas I was already interested in getting en electric toothbrush, I considered the cost prohibitive. So, I was out shopping this weekend (I may post an entirely self-pitying, depressed post about THAT later on), and I stopped at an Osco to pick up some blonding and one of these Crest electric toothbrushes. Only $6.50 at Osco, and available in a variety of colors, not just the white I had been shown. Hmmm… Purple and White, Red White & Blue, White and Purple, Barbie, White with Purple dots and trim, or Space-faring Radioactive Rocket Ship with pilot’s head as on switch? Hmmmm…

So last night I was brushing my teeth with the oscillating tip of a tiny man’s space ship…
