Islam may indeed be a beautiful religion, and the way for many people to live their lives. Calling people “stupid ignorant fuck heads” and making the claim that those who don’t believe in Islam base their lives on “screwing and drinking” is not a particularly effective means of persuasion, however. As a Christian, I know what it means to be represented by the mass media in a poor or outright incorrect light. And doing something about that is important, certainly. Fatimah, I am not saying you don’t have a right to feel angry. God knows I do. My mother wears hijab and is not apologetic about it and I can’t deny that we have been lucky. With the exception of the fear after Sept 11th, the worry that someone would do something to my sister when I was not there to protect her, I have been able to go about my life quietly, calmly. I have only had to explain myself and my faith to a few people who have been peaceful in even their criticism.
I am not telling you to love these people who insult you and try to hurt you, that’d be stupid. But I am asking you to be calm and put alsakeenah in your heart. The people here are certainly not of the kind who have been giving you trouble. The article above could be any nationality, but since they happened to be Turkish the author used Muslim in the title. Take a moment and read it and tell me what offends you about it. I hardly think that something that minor requires the kind of harsh language you used, and it certainly didn’t get through to anyone. It just made you seem to be like the same people who are treating you badly, and no one likes them.
I am certainly not lecturing you, I am giving you my opinion on better ways to deal with people. You don’t have to do what I say, just listen to what I say and don’t discount it.

My view about islam is that it is barbaric and backward and I would ban it from the U.k. The reason I think this is because if you look at every islamic state you don’t have to look far before you find oppression, especially against women. What I can’t understand is why these women put up with it. Why do women think that it is right for them to be sub-servient to men? Are we not all equal? Why is it that in islam men can have as many wifes as they wish but if one of their wifes even so as much looks at another man she can be publicly stoned? Do you think that this is right? Why is it that muslim women are not encouraged to educate themselves and in islamic states they are not allowed to? If you ask me islam was made up by a man who was insecure of himself and his fellow men and who was also a physcopath who enjoyed nothing else than persecuting the weak. I think that is about time for you muslim women to come out of your trance and start to live your lifes properly as you only get one life. islam has no place in the modern, civilised world.

And for the record, while it may seem like the previous post, which complains about people not being patient enough, was impatient in itself, let me assure you this is not the case. I have been sliently watching people not know (and never bother to learn for that matter) how to use the internet. I watch friends, family, people I care about struggle with the concept of right click/left click/double click, and I have watched them doing it for far too long.
I have been advocating the need for a license before you are allowed to operate a computer for at least five years now. Maybe I should write a convincing letter and send it to John McCain, he has appreciated my views in the past…

What I would like to toss in as response to your four (identical) posts, erin, is that it is my understanding that anger does not come from the devil.
