Just something I read somewhere…

“I think that I shall never see a poem as lovely as a hot-gushing, butt-cramping, gut-hosing orgasm.”

  1. It is a character in the book I’m reading today (I’ve been going through quite a few books lately. I will certainly have this one finished before The Invisible Man comes on tonight.) by Chuck Palahniuk, the author of Fight Club. The book I’m reading is his latest release, Choke, and the character is a “recovering sex addict”.

Also, Oreos are good. Even Reduced Fat Oreos. Yum.

  3. I just finished “Love Sick” about how a sex addict recovers. If that’s something you are interested in we could swap.

  5. The main character in Choke uses books like that, and SA meetings, for inspiration. These books would list things that one might be doing if they were a sex addict (ie: if you do more than one of the following… you might be a sex addict), and he would read the list and say “I do now. Thanks for the advice!” Of course, I’ve done similar things in the past, just not with recovering sex addict-related materials.

Nowadays though, as you may have noticed by reading everything on my two sites, I not only have a diminished sex drive, but no humans to share what’s left with. Which I’m okay with. If I had known that that was what Choke was about, I might have skipped it. Then again, it was a very compelling read, and I finished it in about 10 hours on Friday, 8 of which I was at work. Chuck seems to be getting better at the writing as he goes along.

I’d be glad to lend you Choke, but I borrowed it from Zoe, and he wanted it back pretty quick, so even if I wanted to lend it to you before giving it back to him, there’s no time. That, and I don’t think you two like each other very much. But, I would certainly recommend it to someone who wants to read the twisted, demented story of a recovering sex addict who intentionally chokes on his dinners night after night with the intention of making other people feel like heroes. It covers that pretty well.

On the other hand, I am interested in reading Love Sick, though it would fall behind other books on my reading list, such as American Psycho, Tribulation Force, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, The Talisman, Black House, and maybe On Writing. Depending, of course, on the delivery time of the last four and the reading time of the first two, in addition to whatever period passes before I see you next, and whatever activities I attempt to accomplish instead of just reading all the time. For instance, I didn’t read any books after Friday night, but I did finish fifteen comic strips, two of them featuring a character based loosely on you.

Okay, I’m going to look into putting all this babble-ability into a regular post here.
