if you want to know what ‘understudy’ really means,
ask HER about the one before.
       about misunderstanding me,
ask HER about february
       about love
       about sex
       about potential
-SHE could tell you stories.
       about falling?
i fell for HER
               and hit every bump on the way down.
SHE fell for me
                and later learned what falling really means.
and if you want to know what relief really means,
ask HER how it felt to put half a world between us.

A single bottle
in my refrigerator
tempts me. Is not mine.

Everyone agrees
not to leap to conclusions
about what I post.

Ask for my meaning, I plead,
so much easier than this.

I remember the moon. How it glowed that night.

Or maybe it was a streetlight shining down on us.

I remember sitting with her in the cold,
And the four hour bike ride home
              Until the sun came up
Was worth it.
